Foundry

FOUNDRY

Overview

Pashupati Exports operates one of India’s most advanced ductile iron casting foundries, located in Jagatpur, Cuttack, Odisha. Spread across 7 acres with a state-of-the-art automated moulding line, our foundry has been supplying precision ductile iron castings to OEM customers in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East for over 30 years. From manhole covers and valve boxes to irrigation fittings and railway track components, every casting we produce meets strict international quality standards including ASTM A536, DIN 1693, and IS 1865.

Why Our Foundry Location Is an Advantage

Our foundry is strategically located in Odisha — India’s largest iron ore producing state. This gives us a direct cost advantage over foundries located elsewhere in India, as raw material sourcing distances are minimal. Our proximity to Haldia and Kolkata Seaports ensures fast and cost-effective export logistics to US and European ports, with shorter lead times than most inland foundries.

Casting Capabilities & Capacity

Our foundry is capable of producing castings ranging from 0.5 kg to 500 kg per piece, in both grey iron and ductile iron grades. Monthly casting capacity: 500+ metric tonnes. We accept custom patterns, buyer-supplied drawings, and reverse engineering requests.

Quality Control Process

Every casting at Pashupati undergoes a multi-stage quality control process before dispatch. Incoming raw materials including pig iron, steel scrap, and ferroalloys are tested in our in-house chemical lab before entering the melt. Molten metal is analysed using a Carbon Silicon Analyserto verify composition in real time. After casting, every batch is subject to Brinell Hardness testing, tensile strength testing, and microstructure analysis using our image analyser microscope. Dimensional inspection is carried out using CNC-machined jigs and fixtures manufactured in-house, ensuring 100% conformance to drawing tolerances. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or any buyer-nominated agency is fully supported.

Industries Served

  • Municipal & Waterworks — manhole covers, gully gratings, valve boxes, hydrant boxes for city infrastructure projects in the USA and Europe.
  • Irrigation & Agriculture — pipe fittings, MJ fittings, and couplings for irrigation networks.
  • Railways — RDSO-approved railway track fittings for Indian Railways and export markets.
  • Industrial & OEM — custom castings for machinery, pumps, valves, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Firefighting — hydrant bodies, valve housings, and related fittings.

Material Standards & Grades

We manufacture ductile iron castings conforming to the following international standards:

  • ASTM A536 — Grade 60-40-18, 65-45-12, 80-55-06, 100-70-03 (for the US market)
  • DIN EN 1563 / GGG40, GGG50, GGG60 (for European buyers)
  • IS 1865 — Indian Standard for SG iron castings
  • BS EN 124 — for manhole covers and gully tops
  • AWWA C110 / C153 — for ductile iron fittings for water and wastewater

Export Packaging & Logistics

All castings are carefully packed for international shipment using wooden crates, pallets, or bulk containers as per buyer specifications. Each piece is coated with anti-rust treatment and individually wrapped to prevent transit damage. Export documentation including packing lists, material test reports, mill certificates, and certificates of origin are provided with every shipment. We have dedicated logistics partners at Haldia and Kolkata ports ensuring smooth customs clearance and on-time vessel loading.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity for ductile iron castings?

We accept orders from 1 metric tonne upward depending on the product. For new tooling orders, minimum quantities apply based on pattern cost recovery.

Do you support third-party inspection?

Yes. We fully support inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, or any buyer-nominated agency at our foundry prior to dispatch.

What are your standard lead times?

For repeat orders with existing patterns, lead time is 4 to 6 weeks. For new patterns and tooling, lead time is 8 to 12 weeks from drawing approval.

Can you manufacture to buyer-supplied drawings?

Yes. We accept 2D AutoCAD drawings, 3D SolidWorks files, and sample parts for reverse engineering.

What ports do you ship from?

We primarily ship from Haldia Port and Kolkata Port, with connections to all major US and European ports.
